Hi, I’m Delaney

I’m a 23 year old multimedia artist based out of Nashville, TN.

& This is Lola

(She’s just a dog)

GOLOLA is a project dedicated to expressing my innermost self through jewelry, fine art, and ceramics. Follow along with my journey, I’m so glad you found me:)

I began my artistic journey as many do, a complete accident. As a child, I was assembling objects as soon as I could walk. Whether I was playing in the mud, digging through scrap pieces of cardboard, or throwing spaghetti in my face, I was creating something. Every creation was met with an even greater mess. Every mess became an even greater creation. Learning how to manipulate elements became a form of investigation. And so I began: My creative quest to understand.

To understand what exactly? I’m not sure. But that is part of the fun! In exploring different elements, I have learned that creation is connection. The process of shaping, cutting, grinding and molding with ones own two hands preserves the tradition of creating mindfully in a world of mass production. It makes us human.

As I began traveling, I was overwhelmed with the beauty of details. Enamored by unevenly laid bricks or graffiti on a wall. I came to appreciate the blank canvas that is earth, and how we have decorated it. How lucky are we that we get to adorn our bodies and spaces with such meaningless beauty? For what is life without meaningless beauty?
